«Сектор, вносящий наибольший вклад в выбросы парниковых газов на Кипре, — это производство электроэнергии, за ним следует транспортный сектор», — заявила в четверг вечером комиссар по вопросам окружающей среды Антония Феодосиу.
Выступая в муниципалитете Атенью, стремящемся к климатической нейтральности, она сказала, что промышленность и строительный сектор, а также управление отходами и животноводство также способствуют выбросам парниковых газов.
Феодосиу подчеркнула, что рекордные показатели, отмеченные Институтом Кипра, подтверждают необходимость немедленных действий, перехода к моделям устойчивой энергетики и достижения Кипром климатической нейтральности в конечном итоге.
Указав на Национальный план по энергетике и климату (NESCP), она назвала общественную энергетическую автономию и устойчивое управление отходами ключевыми шагами на пути к достижению этой цели.
По её словам, зелёный переход является одним из главных приоритетов её ведомства, добавив, что в настоящее время реализуется пилотный проект, направленный на преобразование деревни Тиллирия в сообщество с климатической нейтральностью.
Институт Кипра проводит мониторинг выбросов парниковых газов с 2020 года, непрерывно измеряя уровень углекислого газа и метана на двух станциях мониторинга в Никосии (Агланджия) и Пафосе (Иния).
Эти измерения дают представление об уровнях загрязнения в настоящее время и служат основой для потенциальных мер по смягчению последствий.

“The sector with the largest contribution to greenhouse gas emissions in Cyprus is electricity production, followed by the transport sector,” environment commissioner Antonia Theodosiou, said on Thursday evening.
Speaking at the Climate Neutral Municipality of Athienou, she said the industry and construction sectors, along with waste management and livestock farming also contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.
Theodosiou stressed that the record findings outlined by The Cyprus Institute confirmed the need for immediate action, the transition to sustainable energy models and for Cyprus to eventually achieve climate neutrality.
Pointing to the National Energy and Climate Plan (NESCP), she listed communal energy autonomy and sustainable waste management as crucial steps in achieving this goal.
The green transition was a key priority of her office, she said, adding that a pilot project aiming to transform Tillyria village into a climate-neutral community was underway.
The Cyprus Institute has monitored greenhouse gas emission since 2020 with continuous measurements of carbon dioxide and methane levels carried out at two monitoring stations in Nicosia (Aglandjia) and Paphos (Inia).
These measurements provide insights into current pollution levels and serve as a basis for potential mitigation measures.

Концентрация парниковых газов над Кипром достигла исторического максимума, составив 430 частей на миллион (ppm) в январе.
«Сектор, вносящий наибольший вклад в выбросы парниковых газов на Кипре, — это производство электроэнергии, за ним следует транспортный сектор», — заявила в четверг вечером комиссар по вопросам окружающей среды Антония Феодосиу.
Выступая в муниципалитете Атенью, стремящемся к климатической нейтральности, она сказала, что промышленность и строительный сектор, а также управление отходами и животноводство также способствуют выбросам парниковых газов.
Феодосиу подчеркнула, что рекордные показатели, отмеченные Институтом Кипра, подтверждают необходимость немедленных действий, перехода к моделям устойчивой энергетики и достижения Кипром климатической нейтральности в конечном итоге.
Указав на Национальный план по энергетике и климату (NESCP), она назвала общественную энергетическую автономию и устойчивое управление отходами ключевыми шагами на пути к достижению этой цели.
По её словам, зелёный переход является одним из главных приоритетов её ведомства, добавив, что в настоящее время реализуется пилотный проект, направленный на преобразование деревни Тиллирия в сообщество с климатической нейтральностью.
Институт Кипра проводит мониторинг выбросов парниковых газов с 2020 года, непрерывно измеряя уровень углекислого газа и метана на двух станциях мониторинга в Никосии (Агланджия) и Пафосе (Иния).
Эти измерения дают представление об уровнях загрязнения в настоящее время и служат основой для потенциальных мер по смягчению последствий.
